Susan Blank, MD, MRO, DFAPA, DFABAM, FBAARM,FACFE
Chief Medical Officer

Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of the Atlanta Healing Center.  Dr. Blank is one of 26 doctors in the State of Georgia that is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Susan Blank is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency in Psychiatry and Neurology at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and she received her training in Forensics at the University of Virginia. When she returned to Georgia Dr. Blank was privileged at a number of the psychiatric hospitals in GA including Charter Peachford. In 1993 Dr. Blank was hired by Gwinnett Medical Center to help open SummitRidge Hospital in Lawrenceville and to serve as their first Medical Director. In 1999 Dr. Blank had the opportunity to work with Doug Talbott at the Talbot Recovery Campus in Atlanta,  GA.  
 
Most recently Dr. Blank completed a Fellowship and Advanced Fellowship training in Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine.  In her work with patients recovering from drug addiction, she became very aware that full recovery requires more than just abstinence.  There are many systems in the body that do not re-engage without some medical assistance and she came to believe that these patients deserved more than a message that abstinence alone would restore their bodies and their lives.

Dr. Blank is Immediate Past President of the Georgia Society of Addiction Medicine and serves on the Advisory Board of the Georgia Physician’s Health Program. She has also served a member of the Board of Directors for The Georgia Council on Alcohol and Drugs. Dr. Blank sat on the Georgia Commission on Narcotics Treatment Center.
 
Dr. Blank and Dr. Lori Karan co-authored the chapter on Tobacco and Nicotine Addiction for the ASAM Patient Criteria released in September 2013. Dr. Blank is a Contributing Author of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians Opioid Treatment Guidelines, Published March 2017
 
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Examiners, a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Fellow of the American Board of Addiction Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine and a Certified Medical Review Officer.
